ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY

Event begins at 6:00 p.m. at the  Atglen Community Park on Ridge Avenue.

The Octorara Intermediate School Band will perform.  Come and join us for cookies and hot cocoa and a special visit from Santa Claus, the lighting of the Christmas tree and singing of Silent Night.

Due to inclement weather, the Borough Council Meeting scheduled for February 2, 2015 has been postponed until Monday, February 9, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

The Atglen Public Library will host its 22^nd Annual Spring Book and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 9^th from 8 am to 2 pm, at the Atglen Community Park, 406 Main Street in Atglen. The sale will feature hardback and paperback books, CDs and movies for adults and children. Delicious baked goods also will be available for purchase. All the proceeds will help fund the many wonderful programs, services and resources the library provides to the community all year long.

Additionally Atglen Public Library also will host a Community Wide Yard Sale on this day. People who wish to have a yard sale on this date are asked to donate $10 to the library. The library will promote the registered yard sales by providing a printed a map of their locations for distribution in the community. This is a great opportunity to add to the success of your own yard sale.

Penningtonville Presbyterian Church, 406 Main Street, will be hosting its Annual Pumpkin & Chili Contest on Sunday, October 24th from 6 to 8 p.m . at the Community Park behind the church.  The Community is invited to bring a carved pumpkin and/or crock pot of chili to be judged. Prizes will awarded.  In addition to chili, they will also be providing hot dogs and drinks. 

Come join us for the Christmas Tree Lighting at the Atglen Community Park (behind Penningtonville Presbyterian Church, 406 Main Street) from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, December 6^th.  The Octorara Intermediate School band will be performing, there will be a Hot Chocolate and Cookie Bar and a special visit from Santa.  All are welcome to come and kick off the Holiday Season.
